Bid Manager Associate

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bid Lab is an RFP and bid management company founded by expert proposal writers. We are the only firm of our kind and thus, growing at an extremely fast pace. We’ve developed ground-breaking services for small and medium-sized businesses as well as government entities and are looking for ambitious, energetic, and self-starting professionals who seek to grow with our company. 

The ideal candidate for our Bid Manager Associate position has extensive knowledge of the RFP process and has the capability to navigate that process with an optimistic and positive attitude. Our company culture is centered around being a positive force in the procurement industry. We would love to find someone who is committed to our company’s mission to assist in the growth of small businesses around the country. 

The Bid Manager Associate position will begin as a 1099 contract position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of successful proposal experience. Experience writing government RFPs is preferred, but not required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related major.
  • In-depth understanding of the RFP response/proposal process from inception to submission. 
  • Positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Strong organizational/process management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Stellar written communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive, high-pressure (but fun!) environment.
  • Exceptional facilitation, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite products.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES:

  • Writing a substantial portion of proposals and questionnaires for existing and prospective institutional clients.
  • Project managing the RFP process, including keeping to deadlines, communicating with clients and creating deliverables. 
  • Developing substantive and persuasive responses to unique or challenging proposal questions while maintaining compliance with policy.
  • Continually maintaining and updating responses to standardized inquiries utilizing proposal software.
  • Developing strong working relationships with clients’ product management, sales, risk, legal/compliance, and investment teams to ensure proposal input is accurate, persuasive and timely.
  • Contributing to marketing and strategy development based on proposal trends and analysis.
  • Writing content for our website, blog posts, and media publications that relate to RFPs.
  • Constantly questioning how we do things and developing more efficient ways to win for our clients.
 

Director of Bid Manager

The ideal candidate for our Director of Bid Manager has extensive knowledge of the RFP process and has the capability to navigate that process with an optimistic and positive attitude. Our company culture is centered around being a positive force in the procurement industry. We would love to find someone who is committed to our company’s mission to assist in the growth of small businesses around the country. 

The Director of Bid Manager will begin as a 1099 contract position with immense growth potential. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of experience writing proposals with a stellar track record. 
  • Experience with government proposals is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related major.
  • In-depth understanding of the RFP response/proposal process from inception to submission. 
  • Positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Strong organizational/process management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Stellar written communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive, high-pressure (but fun!) environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite products. 
  • Ability to develop processes and manage a team to carry out these processes. 
  • Ability to oversee multiple RFPs simultaneously and manage a team of writers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES: 

  • Reviewing a substantial number of proposals from our Bid Manager Associates.
  • Project Managing RFPs that are complicated and need extra attention.
  • Developing substantive and persuasive responses to unique or challenging proposal questions while maintaining compliance with policy.
  • Continually maintaining and updating responses to standardized inquiries utilizing proposal software.
  • Developing strong working relationships with clients’ product management, sales/client service, risk, legal/compliance, and investment teams to ensure proposal input is accurate, persuasive and timely.
  • Managing the proposal process across multiple contributing teams in developing and delivering strategic proposal components and responses for proposal software.
  • Reviewing and editing peer proposals and questionnaires.
  • Contributing to marketing and strategy development based on proposal trends and analysis.
  • Identifying process improvements that reduce cycle times and resource requirements for proposal development.
  • Building and managing a team of response associates.
 

Sales Associate

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bid Lab is the only proposal firm of its kind, focusing on managing and building bids for small and medium-sized businesses as well as government agencies. We are growing at an extremely fast pace and looking for energetic, eloquent, and ambitious professionals who seek to grow with our company.

The ideal candidate for our Sales Associate position is self-motivated and driven with an optimistic and positive vibe who will cultivate leads and convert them to clients. We are looking for a confident, trustworthy, transparent sales professional eager to contribute and grow with our company. This is a contract position with a commission based pay structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidates will have:

  • 2+ years of sales experience, including B2B sales. Experience in Government, Real Estate, and/or Technology industries preferred, but not required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Economics, or related major.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the sales process, customer relations management and the RFP process.
  • Strong organizational/process skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A passion for not only meeting but exceeding expectations.
  • A positive and optimistic vibe
  • The ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES:

  • Executing an effective sales process to hit (and exceed) monthly and quarterly goals outlined below:
    • # of cold calls made
    • # of leads developed
    • # of follow ups sent out
    • # of prospects pitched
    • # of clients signed
    • # of service agreements sent out
    • # of referrals received from clients signed by sales person
    • # of reviews received from clients signed.
  • Pitching and closing mid and high-level enterprise accounts through cold email and cold calling outreach. 100 cold calls from a pre-vetted list of contacts is required on a monthly basis.
  • Presenting to and pitching potential clients via phone/video calls and negotiating pricing and deal structures
  • Driving awareness into prospect base through regular email and call campaigns as well as industry networking
  • Understanding the competitive landscape and our position to determine which product and pitch is a fit for a given account
  • Bi-Weekly evaluation pinpointing exactly why specific tactics are and are not working through data and constant inspection; KPI reporting and weekly sales meetings.
  • Creating a streamlined and efficient process for following up with all leads and integrating with our CRM.
  • Continual updating and maintenance of CRM records.
